U.S. CENTER FOR SAFE SPORT POLICIES & PROCEDURES

US Soccer formally adopted new Athlete and Participant safety policy on February 16, 2019. Subsequently, Cal South and Affiliate Members must ensure that all Coaches, Administrators and other Covered Individuals complete the required U.S. Center for Safe Sport training and education online course.

COVERED INDIVIDUAL DEFINITION

As outlined in the Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Authorization Act of the 115th Congress (S.534), the term Covered Individual is defined as below:

- the term `covered individual' means an adult who is authorized, by a national governing body, a member of a national governing body, or an amateur sports organization that participates in interstate or international amateur athletic competition, to interact with a minor or amateur athlete at an amateur sports organization facility or at any event sanctioned by a national governing body, a member of a national governing body, or such an amateur sports organization; -
