Cal South member recreational leagues are focused primarily on offering youth opportunities soccer in a balanced competitive setting. Each player has the opportunity to develop and enhance his or her soccer skills by participating in recreational soccer. Approximately 50% or over 60,000 of Cal South’s registered players participate in member recreational leagues.
Recreation Leagues are administered at the local level that emphasize open participation and player registration, and employs a system of rostering players for the purpose of creating a fair and balanced distribution of playing talent among all participating Teams, and where each player plays at least one-half (1/2) of each game.

In the Under 9, 10, 11, 18 and 19 age groups, Presidents division is open to all teams playing in a Cal South Sanctioned League in all play levels.
In the U12 through U17 ages, the Presidents division is open to all teams playing in a Cal South Sanctioned League in Silver Elite division, or equal, or lower. For more information on Cal South’s State Cup, please visit http://www.calsouth.com/en/statecup/
District Commissioner Cups are post season tournaments that vary by Cal South region.
The Cal South Referee Program's goal is to create and grow a qualified and well-trained group of referees. These referees will be instructed at and held to the highest standards with the intent of maintaining a safe and enjoyable playing environment for Cal South members of all ages and skill levels. Designed to meet the needs of today's modern youth soccer coach, Cal South has established a comprehensive Coaching Education Program that offers a U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF)-approved curriculum of courses for the "Youth Module", "E", and "D" licenses. Cal South created the Signature League Program for recreational league based organizations wishing to offer a new playing opportunity of higher level of soccer skill. This program is designed as being a natural progression or transition to competitive soccer in the future. New affiliates wishing to get sanctioned by Cal South may do so as a youth and/or adult league as long as they meet the sanctioning requirements for each category. The sanctioning requirements for both types of affiliate member are very different, so please be mindful of this fact when you begin filling out the application.
