Fullerton, CA (June 27, 2011) - The Cal South Olympic Development Program (ODP) is proud to announce that former English Premier League manager Aidy Boothroyd and goalkeeper Paul Hart will coach at the upcoming Finishing and Goalkeeping Academies in Ojai, CA, July 7-10. Registration is still open for U14-U17 players. Registration will remain open online at until the camps reach maximum capacity.

Boothroyd will be visiting Southern California for the second time in four years. "This is fantastic news for Cal South and its members," remarked Steve Hoffman, Cal South Director of Coaching Education and Player Development. "Having Aidy back in California to share his expertise with our coaches and kids is tremendous. He loves our program, and he'd like to do as much for the kids as he can."

Also coaching at the Finishing and Goalkeeping Academies will be former English Premier League goalkeeper Paul Hart, who also serves as the current Cal South ODP goalkeeping coach. The addition of Boothroyd and Hart to the ODP academies will serve to bring an authentic EPL feel to the already impressive Cal South ODP training program.

Boothroyd has also been confirmed to teach at several upcoming Cal South Coaching Education courses in the coming months, including the following:

Adrian Neil "Aidy" Boothroyd is a former manager and player from the English Premier League. He managed at Watford (2005-2008) and Colchester United (2009-2010), and most recently managed at Coventry City (2010-2011). As a player, Boothroyd was a lower division full back, who played for Huddersfield Town, Bristol Rovers, Hearts, Mansfield Town and Peterborough United. His playing career ended at the premature age of 26 due to injury.

After ending his playing career at Peterborough United, Boothroyd was appointed coach of the Under 17, Under 19 and reserve teams at the club. He left Peterborough in 2001 to join Norwich City as their youth team coach under Nigel Worthington. After two years at Carrow Road, Boothroyd assumed the positions of Youth Development Officer and Technical Director at West Bromwich Albion, joining in October 2003. A short spell at The Hawthorns ended when he was appointed first-team coach at Leeds United in July 2004.

He was appointed manager of Watford of the Championship in March 2005 at the age of 34, and when he left the club in 2008, he the youngest and second longest serving manager in its division. At Watford, he led them to win the Championship Playoffs in 2006, took them to the FA Cup Semi-finals in 2007, and the Championship Playoff Semi-Finals in 2008. He has an overall record of 96 wins, 71 draws and 92 losses in his professional coaching career.

Paul Hart is a former professional goalkeeper with the Queen Park Rangers (1995-1998) and with the Barnett Football Club (1998-1999). He also played for Boreham Wood, Crawley Town, and Leatherhead Town. He played collegiate soccer at West Texas A&M University.

Hart holds a USSF National Goalkeeping License (2011), UEFA B License (2000), USSF C License (2004), and NSCAA Goalkeeping Diploma Level 1 & 2 (2008).
