Press Release
mayo 12, 2011

The May 2011 issue of Cal South Soccer Magazine has just come out and should be hitting the mailboxes of all registered Cal South members within the next week.

The feature article this issue is about women's soccer in America and the steps that U.S. Soccer is taking to drive improvements in player development. The article features interviews with new U.S. Soccer Women's Technical Director April Heinrichs, new U.S. Soccer Women's Developmental Director Jillian Ellis, U.S. Women's National Team forward Alex Morgan (a former Cal South ODP player) and Marley Canales, a 13-year-old midfielder currently making a big impression in Cal South ODP. (Morgan and Canales are featured on this issue's cover.)

The issue also has photo layouts of the champions for the Cal South National Cup Youngers and Sports Authority State Cup Youngers, and articles about the Cal South ODP Girls '94 capturing a national title in Phoenix, the Cal South Awards Banquet, and two Cal South-raised referees who have hit the big time on the officiating circuit in the MLS and WPS. Cal South Soccer Magazine also has spotlight features on adult and recreational soccer leagues, as well as the latest news about other programs, partnerships and Cal South initiatives in our Member Central section. Plus, there is plenty of fun to be had in our Cal South Pulse, Where in the World and Hot Shot features too!

Cal South members should also be sure to look for a special, reusable membership discount card from Sports Authority on page 5 of this issue, which is good for 15% off your entire purchase at any Sports Authority outlet.
