LANCASTER, CA (March 18, 2010) - Four championship teams were named this weekend as the Semi-Finals and Finals in the 2010 Cal South National Cup Youngers brackets were played on March 13-14 at the Lancaster National Soccer Center.

After squeaking past the Arsenal FC 9-8 on PKs after a 1-1 regulation in the semi-final match the previous day, the San Diego Surf White U13 girls probably drew a sigh of relief that their final match against the Slammers FC ended in a 1-0 shutout. The Surf have now captured three Cal South titles this year, one in the National Cup and two (GU9 and GU10) in the State Cup Youngers. LAFC Chelsea captured the BU13 title with a solid 6-0 shutout over Real So Cal White.

Santa Barbara SC Gold's 1-0 shutout in Sunday's U12 final against Legends FC capped a run straight through the competition where SBSC didn't give up a single goal. On the U12 Girls' side, Arsenal FC took the title with a 3-1 win over Slammers FC.

Cal South National Cup Olders action in the U14-U18 age groups is scheduled to begin on April 17, while the U19 age group begins play on May 29. Cal South National Cup champions move on to the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series Far West Regionals to be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico from June 20-27, 2010. Regional champions in the U14 to U19 age groups move on to the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series National Championships to be held in Overland Park, Kansas from July 18-25, 2010.
