CAL SOUTH/SANTA MARGARITA TOPSOCCER HOLIDAY FEST PHOTOS & VIDEO NOW ONLINE

marzo 09, 2010

March 9, 2010 - Photos and video from the second annual Cal South/Santa Margarita Catholic High School TOPSoccer Holiday Fest held last December have now been made available online.

Over 150 volunteers showed up on December 5, 2009 to help turn the soccer field at Santa Margarita Catholic High School into a winter wonderland. The Santa Margarita girl's soccer team, their coaches and parents, and various family members prepared everything while event coordinators Jenny Cochrane and Katie Guerrero anxiously awaited the arrival of the special guests for the day.

53 TOPSoccer players finally arrived at the Fest, greeted by the members of the SMCHS girl's soccer team and coach Chuck Morales. The TOPSoccer players were divided into teams with each of the SMCHS players acting as buddies for the TOPSoccer players. The fun began as the TOPSoccer players participated in a friendly but competitive game against the SMCHS team. The various soccer stations around the grounds included skee bowl soccer, slalom, tidal wave target, goal shots, wall target, croquet and the ever popular parachute game.

Chivas USA provided an inflatable game for the event, where the players had fun meeting the Chivas USA mascot, the ChivaFighter. TOPSoccer players and volunteers were treated to smoothies from Juice It Up and El Pollo Loco chicken and burritos.

The day ended with each TOPSoccer player receiving a specially made holiday cookie, a picture and frame decorated by the SMCHS Girl's soccer team, and a dog tag medal to remind them of their experience.

Special thanks from the staff and volunteers of the second annual Cal South/Santa Margarita Catholic High School TOPSoccer Holiday Fest are offered to Santa Margarita Catholic High School girl's soccer team, Score, Arrowhead Water, Chivas USA, Canon, Cox Cable, Juice It Up and Kohl's for their sponsorship of this special day.
