Fullerton, Calif. (Wednesday, February 10, 2016) – The Cal South Governance & Elections Committee announced today the results for its 2016 Elections. Voting for these elections closed on Tuesday, February 9th.
US YOUTH SOCCER BOARD OF DIRECTORS APPROVES IMPLEMENTATION OF US SOCCER MANDATES October 2015
FULLERTON, CA (Oct. 14, 2015) ­— The US Youth Soccer Board of Directors has approved the implementation of age group registration by calendar year, as mandated by the U.S. Soccer Federation. First announced on Aug. 24 as part of the U.S. Soccer Coaching Initiatives, the registration of youth soccer players nationwide will shift to calendar-year age grouping, as opposed to the current school-year age grouping.
U.S. SOCCER ANNOUNCES SIGNIFICANT COURSE CHANGES, COMPLETES NEXT PHASE OF LICENSE UPGRADES October 2015
CHICAGO (Sept. 25, 2015) – This past February, U.S. Soccer launched the Digital Coaching Center (DCC) and an online only F License. The first six months have been highly successful with over 40,000 registered users and over 20,000 F license holders. These latest upgrades provide a platform that allows the coaching department to reach, educate and communicate with coaches of all levels on a more consistent basis.

US YOUTH SOCCER ANNOUNCES DATES FOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS THROUGH 2020 August 2015
FULLERTON, CA (August 30, 2015) In an effort to ensure that the highest level of youth soccer is played at the best facilities in the country, US Youth Soccer recently announced the locations for all the National Championships through 2020. The Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco, Texas, home to MLS side FC Dallas, will host the National Championships in 2016, 2017 and 2018, with the Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex in Overland Park, Kansas hosting it in 2019 and 2020. Both Frisco and Overland Park have hosted highly successful National Championships in the past, with Frisco hosting in 2007 and Overland Park hosting in 2010 and 2013.
US SOCCER ANNOUNCES TWO MAJOR CHANGES IN PLAYER DEVELOPMENT August 2015
FULLERTON, CA (August 28, 2015) Cal South would like to share the following information regarding two significant changes in player development announced by the US Soccer Federation. The initiatives revolve around a new standardized small-sided format for players under 12 years of age and a change to player registration that focuses on the player's birth year instead of a calendar year.

FULLERTON, CA (August 10, 2015) Bela was born in Budapest, Hungary on March 22, 1936, the first day of spring, to Bela Sr. and Erzsebet Bircsak. He had one brother Steve, who unfortunately lost his battle to cancer four years ago. Bela was an outstanding athlete early on and he had many talents. He loved the outdoors, acting, singing and playing the bass guitar, although his two favorite pastimes were sailboat racing and soccer. By the time the 1956 Hungarian Revolution broke out he was a full-fledged tool and die maker and designer.

FULLERTON, CA (May 15, 2015) - The Cal South Pro+ program has announced its player selections for its 2015 ODP 1999 and 2000 Summer Pools. Players selected to these pools will receive invitation letters to participate. Instructions are included in the emails sent to parennts on next steps that parents and players need to take in order to participate in the pools. The talented boys and girls chosen for these pools will go into training starting Sunday, May 31, 2015.

FULLERTON, CA (April 28, 2015) - The Cal South Pro+ program has announced its final player selections for its 2015 ODP 2002 and 2003 Summer Pools. The talented boys and girls chosen for the 2002 pools will go into training throughout the summer in preparation for the Cal South ODP Pro+ Invitational, to be held in Ventura, CA from May 22-25, 2015. They will represent Cal South in games against other state selected teams.

Fullerton, CA (March 23, 2015) -- Sally Grigoriev was announced as the newly elected District Commissioner of Cal South District 1 on March 22 by the Cal South Board of Directors. In the election for District 5 Commissioner, incumbent District 5 Commissioner Cindy Quan has been re-elected to another term.
WNT Defeats France 2-0 to Win 10th Algarve Cup  March 2015
FARO, Portugal (March 11, 2015) – USA Earns 10th Title at Portugal-Based Event as Julie Johnston Tallies First WNT Goal and Christen Press Tallies 20th-Career Goal. U.S. Looks Forward to April 4 Match against New Zealand in St. Louis. The U.S. Women’s National Team earned its 10th championship at the Algarve Cup, defeating France 2-0 at Algarve Stadium.
U.S. U-20 WNT to Bring 22 Players to La Manga Tournament Starting Feb. 28 February 2015
CHICAGO (Feb. 17, 2015) – The U.S. Under-20 Women’s National Team will bring 22 players, including four Cal South Pro+ alumni, to a U-19 invitational tournament in La Manga, Spain, running from Feb. 28-March 10. At the 10-team competition that features three matches for each country, the USA will face Norway (March 5), the Netherlands (March 7) and Sweden (March 9).
