THREE CAL SOUTH ALUMNAE NAMED TO MEXICO’S U-20 WOMEN’S NATIONAL TEAM ROSTER FOR U-20 WOMEN’S WORLD CUP

October 28, 2016

Cal South alumnae Annia Mejia, Jaqueline Crowther and Kiana Palacios were named to the 21-player Mexican U-20 Women’s National Team roster that will participate in the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup that will kick off November 13 in Papua New Guinea.

Mexico sits in Group D of the competition, kicking off on Nov. 14 against Korea Republic before matching up against Germany on Nov. 17 and closing the group stage against Venezuela on Nov. 21; all games are set to be played at the National Football Stadium.

Chino Hills-based club Legends FC will have representation through Mejia and Crowther, both of whom were part of the club before moving on to collegiate soccer. The third Southern California talent, Palacios, will represent Slammers FC.

Four other players were called up earlier this month to represent the United States U-20 Women’s National Team in the same tournament (click here to view list.) In total, Cal South will have seven players proudly representing the Southern California area.
