CAL SOUTH DONATES AN ADDITIONAL $117,000 TO 21 TEAMS BOUND FOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP EVENTS

Fullerton, CA (July 9, 2013) - UPDATE: The Cal South Board of Directors announced today the final subsidy quantities which will be donated to each of the Cal South teams attending the three upcoming national championship events hosted in July by US Youth Soccer and the United States Adult Soccer Association.

Sixteen Cal South youth teams will each receive a subsidy of $5,500 to help them with their traveling expenses in attending the 2013 US Youth Soccer National Championships in Overland Park, Kansas from July 23-28. The three Cal South youth teams attending the 2013 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup in Auburndale, Florida, held later this week from July 11-14, will receive subsidies of $8,000 each.

Two Cal South adult teams will each receive a total subsidy of $2,500 to aid in their expenses for attending the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) National Cups Finals in San Antonio, Texas (July 19-21). A full listing of all 21 Cal South teams attending these events appears below.

WIth the additional $117,000 provided to these 21 teams, Cal South has now provided subsidies and entry fee payments of over $335,000 in 2013 to its Affiliate Member teams, youth and adult, which advanced to the regional and national competitions being held this summer.

The annual Cal South team subsidies are discretionary in nature and based upon the success and affiliate member support of the State and National Cup events.
