January 15, 2013 (FULLERTON, CA) - Cal South President Johnnie Garza announced his resignation from the office he has held for the past three years at a Cal South Board meeting earlier this month. Garza has accepted a senior leadership position with the FAA, for whom he has been employed for over 30 years, which will require him to relocate to Washington, D.C.
"It has been an honor and privilege for me to serve as your President and as a member of our Board of Directors," said Garza. "I am grateful for the support you have provided me personally and the ideas I have brought forward."
The Cal South Board of Directors accepted Garza's resignation to be effective at the conclusion of our Annual General Meeting on February 17, 2013 during Soccer Nation Expo. The Board has also appointed John Mullen, the current District 2 Commissioner, to fulfill the remaining balance of Garza's term, which expires in February 2014.
Cal South thanks Johnnie Garza for his excellent leadership and commitment to the growth and success of Cal South.
