Board of Directors' Positions Up for Election in 2011:
Executive Vice President | Vice President of Youth | Treasurer | Commissioners for Districts 1, 3, 5, and 7

The election process for the upcoming elections of District Commissioner and Cal South Board positions is well underway for the 2011 calendar year. Nomination forms and official notices for these positions were mailed out in September to the presidents of all approved Cal South leagues. The nomination deadline for all positions up for election is Monday, October 18, 2010.

Transparency is fundamental to the Cal South Nomination Committee's processes. In the interest of serving this statement properly, Cal South provides the following information in accordance with our bylaws on the entire nominations process and timeline therein:

Board of Directors' Positions Up for Election in 2011:
Executive Vice President, Vice President of Youth, Treasurer, and Commissioners for Districts 1, 3, 5, and 7

Cal South Annual General Meeting (AGM):
Sunday, February 13, 2011 at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center

Cal South Election Nomination Committee:
Ann Shoemake (District 6 Commissioner), John Mullen (District 2 Commissioner), and Lila Smith (Secretary)

The Cal South Nominations Committee has presented and the Board of Directors have approved the following timeline which was developed to align with the Cal South bylaws and league board activity, and also to avoid holiday absences as much as possible.

District Commissioners - District 1, 3, 5, & 7

September 22, 2010, Wednesday: Notice of Election and Request for Nomination
October 18, 2010, Monday: Nomination Deadline
October 19, 2010, Tuesday: Contacting Potential Candidates per policy
November 1, 2010, Monday: Policy requirements (Conflict of Interest Disclosure, Risk Management…) and bio statements due
November 2-4, 2010, Tuesday - Thursday: Committee review and recommendations
November 5, 2010, Friday: Slate of candidates submitted to board for approval
November 6, 2010, Saturday: Official board approval of slate of candidates at regular board meeting
November 8, 2010, Monday: Potential candidate notification and explanation of approval or denial of ballot candidacy
November 12, 2010, Friday: Ballots & bios mailed (meets 10-day minimum requirement)
January 5, 2011, Wednesday: Ballot deadline
January 6, 2011, Thursday: Election Day, ballots counted
January 7, 2011, Friday: District Commissioners announced
