MEDFORD, OR (June 20, 2010) - Today, for the second year in a row, Cal South captured eight of the ten titles being contested in the finals round of the US Youth Soccer Region IV Presidents Cup. Preliminary matches for the 2010 tournament took place from June 17-19, with each team in each age bracket playing three matches (except for the BU15 bracket, where four preliminary matches were played). Semi-final matches were held last evening in the BU16, GU13 and GU15 age brackets.

Cal South repeated its success at last year's inaugural edition of this event, when it captured 8 of the 10 Region IV Presidents Cup championship titles, which eventually led to a national Presidents Cup title for the BU14 Los Alamitos Titans. Six of Cal South's championship teams (U14 through U17) will now represent Cal South and Region IV in the US Youth Soccer Presidents Cup National Finals in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, to be held July 8-11, 2010.

Cal South entered 19 teams - 10 Cal South State Cup champions and 9 wild cards - in the Region IV Presidents Cup. Cal South saw 13 of its 19 teams make it through the preliminaries into the finals round, meaning that three of the championship finals had Cal South teams on either side of the match-up: the BU13, GU15 and GU16 finals. Cal South teams had a shot going into the day at winning all ten of the championship trophies.
