TEMECULA, CA (May 11, 2010) - Four champions were crowned in the U14 and U18 brackets at the 2010 Cal South National Cup this weekend at the John Blanche Memorial Soccer Complex in Temecula. The location also hosted the National Cup Round of 16 and Semi-Final matches for the U15-U17 age brackets as Cal South held their annual College Showcase Weekend, which gives players in the National Cup a prime opportunity to display their skills before over 100 visiting college coaches, as well as access to special college recruiting seminars held by the National Collegiate Scouting Association.

The Laguna Hills Eclipse U18 girls hoisted their National Cup trophy after a tough battle against the So Cal Blues, which ended in a 2-1 Eclipse victory. South Coast Bayern took home the Boys Under 14 title after shutting out the Irvine Strikers, 5-0 in that bracket's final. The BU18 West Coast FC Premier also gathered their National Cup trophy via a shutout, outpacing FC San Diego Gold, 2-0. West Coast FC captured a second National Cup title over the weekend as their Girls Under 14 team defeated Arsenal FC by the same score, 2-0.

Cal South National Cup Olders action in the U15-U17 age groups concludes this weekend, May 15-16, in Rancho Capistrano, while the U19 age group begins play on May 29. Cal South National Cup champions move on to the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series Far West Regionals to be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico from June 20-27, 2010. Regional champions in the U14 to U19 age groups move on to the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series National Championships to be held in Overland Park, Kansas from July 18-25, 2010.
