Cal South and Chipotle Team Up to Promote Active Lifestyles in Southern California

Chipotle Named as “Official Mexican Grill Restaurant Partner”

April 22, 2013 (Fullerton, CA) - Cal South Soccer and Chipotle Mexican Grill announced a new partnership today to promote healthier, active lifestyles in Southern California. As part of the agreement, Chipotle is now designated as the “Official Mexican Grill Restaurant Partner” of Cal South. Chipotle will also be provided with exhibition areas at various State Cup and National Cup venues in 2013 and 2014, and have a prominent presence at Soccer Nation Expo in the Los Angeles Convention Center in early 2014.

“Our ongoing commitment to Food With Integrity forms a natural connection with an active and aware lifestyle,” says Chris Arnold, director of communications at Chipotle. “We are proud to partner with Cal South and encourage future generations to learn more about their food source.”

Chipotle has a consistent track record of sourcing only the best, most sustainable ingredients possible, meaning you can feel good about what's for dinner. Chipotle seeks better food from using ingredients that are not only fresh, but also sustainably grown and naturally raised with respect for the animals, the land, and the farmers who produce the food. Through this “Food With Integrity” vision, Chipotle serves tasty burritos, burrito bowls, salads and tacos that provide the right energy to keep all ages levels of soccer players quick on the field.

“We are proud to partner with Chipotle, which has proven, through its innovation, its success in connecting with the current generation of players and parents,” said John Weinerth, Cal South’s Chief Executive Officer. “We are excited to have Chipotle’s presence at our major tournaments and events, and hope that their involvement will inspire our members to seek out higher quality food options when refueling after the match.”

About Chipotle:
Steve Ells, founder, chairman and co-CEO, started Chipotle with the idea that food served fast did not have to be a typical fast food experience. Today, Chipotle continues to offer a focused menu of burritos, tacos, burrito bowls (a burrito without the tortilla) and salads made from fresh, high-quality raw ingredients, prepared using classic cooking methods and served in a distinctive atmosphere. Through our vision of Food With Integrity, Chipotle is seeking better food from using ingredients that are not only fresh, but that—where possible—are sustainably grown and naturally raised with respect for the animals, the land, and the farmers who produce the food. A similarly focused people culture, with an emphasis on identifying and empowering top performing employees, enables us to develop future leaders from within. Chipotle opened with a single restaurant in 1993 and currently operates more than 1,450 restaurants. For more information, visit
