All team coaches and administrators should be aware that there are just a couple of days left to take advantage of Early Bird Discount rates for the 2013 Cal South National Cup and the 2013 Sports Authority State Cup. To qualify for an Early Bird Discount rate, a team must have their registration for either event paid in full by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, October 14, 2012.
The normal cost for teams entering the Cal South National Cup is $745. The Early Bird Discount rate is only $695. That's a savings of $50!
The Sports Authority State Cup is once again split into two separate divisions: Governors and Presidents. Teams applying to take part in the Presidents Division normally pay a $665 entry fee, while those applying for the Governors Division normally pay $565 per team. Teams taking advantage of Early Bird Discount rates can save $65 off the normal price!

If you are interested in nominating your favorite players, coaches, parents or volunteers for their hard work and dedication to the sport of soccer throughout 2012, this is your opportunity. The Cal South Awards Banquet, our annual celebration of the incredible accomplishments of our members and volunteers, will once again come alive on Saturday night, February 16, just after the lights have gone down on Soccer Nation Expo 2013 for the day. Dinner and awards will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with cocktails beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Only 500 lucky individuals will be joining us for an evening filled with great food, entertainment, recognition and fun. Last year, the Awards Banquet sold out weeks in advance! Individual tickets are $75 apiece. Ticket orders are due in the Cal South Corporate Office no later than January 31, 2013 - don't delay - we sold out last year! Tickets will be available by will call during the cocktail hour.

|2013 Elections for the Cal South Board of Directors|
The nomination deadline for District 1, 3, 5 and 7 Commissioner positions is Monday, October 22, 2012. Nomination forms and official notices for District Commissioner positions were sent out in September to presidents and boards of all qualified Cal South leagues and clubs.

Cal South has teamed up with the LA Galaxy to show their appreciation of soccer volunteers in Southern California. Nominate your favorite volunteers today for their chance to be named as the LA Galaxy Volunteer of the Month for September! The winning volunteer will receive an LA Galaxy game package with 4 tickets and a parking pass to see the LA Galaxy vs. Seattle Sounders on Sunday, October 28th at 6:00 p.m.

|New Online Referee Registration System Launched by Cal South|
Cal South recently launched a new online registration system for referees. All referees that are returning or upgrading MUST use this system to register and pay their USSF registration fee online.
For this, you will need your referee profile username and password. If you don't have one or have misplaced it, please contact the Affinity Sports Call Center at 1.800.817.5977, Monday to Friday (7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.) or Saturday and Sunday (7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.) Once you have your log-in information, please take a moment to access and familiarize yourself with your account by clicking here.

|Registrars: Be Sure that All Contact and Email Addresses for Your Teams are Current|
Now that were in a relative calm period following the fall registration rush, it is time for registrars, leagues and clubs to make sure that the most current coach and player home and email addresses have been updated in the Cal South Registration System. Updating these addresses is important for a myriad of reasons, including easing the registration process for your teams going forward. Most importantly, the freshest contact information is the entry way for Cal South members to
get timely updates about Cal South programs, courses and other membership benefits.
|TOPSoccer Volunteers Needed for All Programs
Volunteers are needed for all TOPSoccer programs. Community service hours are available to high school students. Cal South TOPSoccer chair Sandy Castillo asks that anyone interested in volunteering to help out with TOPSoccer contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org. She will gladly get you in touch with the TOPSoccer program nearest to your area.
|Risk Management Policy: A Reminder on Card Printing
All administrators MUST complete the Live Scan process; this includes coaches, managers, team parents, board members and tournament directors. A card can NOT be printed until the Corporate Office has received approval from the Department of Justice. The process can take up to 14 business days to complete.

If you are an adult referee that will be refereeing youth matches you will need to have an approved Risk Management on the Registered Officials List to be able to be assigned youth matches.
