|2012 ODP Day Camps and Academies Are Open for Online Registration

Online registration for the 2012 Summer Cal South ODP Day Camps and Residential Academies is open online. New family, group, and team discounts providing savings of up to $30 per player on Cal South ODP Day Camp registration! Visit www.odpcamps.com/daycamps for full details about the camps.
Residential Academies for younger boys and girls, and the coed Residential Finishing and Goalkeeping Academies for older players start the summer off with our highest levels of training. They are followed by eight ODP Day Camps held in various locations across Southern California. Cal South ODP Camps are open to all players in the appropriate age groups.
In addition to the returning camps in Palos Verdes, Moorpark, Fullerton, San Diego, San Juan Capistrano, and Yucaipa in June and July, two new Cal South ODP Day Camps will be held in Long Beach and the San Fernando Valley in August. Visit www.odpcamps.com/online-registration/ for complete listings.

|Veterans Cup Early Bird Registration Extended to Cal South Adult Teams Through April 30th|

Come join the teams currently registered for the 2012 Veterans Cup in the Over 30 to Over 60 age brackets. Cal South is hosting this event from June 26 through July 1 at Ryan Park in Escondido. |Sanctioned Tournament Application Deadline: April 30th
Cal South Sanctioned Tournament applications will be accepted through April 30th - all tournaments which need to be approved before October should submit COMPLETE applications by Monday, April 30th. Applications and details are online at www.calsouth.com/en/tourn-apps/.
|U19 Registration Deadline for 2012 Cal South National Cup is April 29th|

The registration deadline for the U19 brackets in the Cal South National Cup is Sunday, April 29, 2012. Teams must be registered and paid in full by 11:59pm PST on that date. The cost for teams entering the National Cup is $745.
Cal South National Cup championship teams in the U12-U19 age brackets will move on to the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series Far West Regionals in Phoenix, Arizona from June 18-24, 2012. Champions in the U14-U19 age brackets at the Regionals will get to move forward to the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series National Championships in Rock Hills, South Carolina from July 24-29, 2012.

|Cal South Soccer Foundation Awards $117,500 in Grants to Assist with
Fields, Program Development and Provide Equipment within Southern California
The Cal South Soccer Foundation announced on April 11, 2012 it has awarded eight non-profit organizations grants totaling $117,500 to assist with soccer field development, program development and to provide equipment.
The eight organizations receiving the awards help to target soccer field, program and equipment needs throughout the Southern California area. The recipients were selected from applications gathered during the October 2011 grants cycle. The Foundation is excited to partner with such great organizations to help meet these needs.
2012 Award Recipients are as follows:
- City of Encinitas (Encinitas, CA) -Field Development
- Club Deportivo (Port Hueneme, CA) - Small Equipment
- Fallbrook Sports Association (Fallbrook, CA) -Field Development
- Matrix Soccer Club (Riverside, CA) - Small Equipment
- Notah Begay III Foundation (Santa Ana Pueblo, NM) - Medium Matching (for programs in Southern California)
- San Luis Obispo Soccer Club (San Luis Obispo, CA) - Small Equipment
- Spartans Football Club (Yucaipa, CA) - Small Equipment
- Voetbal Soccer Club (Lemon Grove, CA) - Small Equipment

|Cal South State Referee Committee Names Kia Dehpanah as New Director of Indoor & Beach Soccer
Cal South has named Kia Dehpanah as the new Director of Indoor and Beach Soccer for the Cal South State Referee Committee.
"We are very excited about having Kia join the State Referee Committee," said George Noujaim, the State Referee Administrator (SRA) for Cal South. "I have worked side by side with Kia and always admired his indoor game management. The knowledge he has gained from years of experience will be invaluable in helping us expand our efforts in the areas of indoor and beach soccer in Southern California."

|Three Recreational Leagues Honored with District 5 "League of Excellence" Awards|
Cal South District 5 Commissioner Rick McCown has announced that three recreational leagues have been honored with the district's inaugural "League of Excellence" awards. The three leagues which received this award are the Temecula Valley Soccer Association, Yucaipa Valley Youth Soccer and the Horsethief Canyon Soccer Association. Yucaipa Valley Youth Soccer was also the recent recipient of the Kohl's Recreational Achievement Award at the 2012 Cal South Awards
Banquet, held in Los Angeles in February.

|Cal South TOPSoccer Coaches Workshop to be held in Anaheim, June 2-3, 2012

Cal South TOPSoccer chair Sandy Castillo has announced that the 2012 Cal South TOPSoccer Coaches Workshop will take place at the Peacock Suites in Anaheim, CA on June 2-3, 2012. It will be a weekend of courses pertaining to TOPSoccer players, volunteers and coaching, and is a great opportunity to meet and exchange idea with other motivated coaches and administrators. New equipment, including balls and goals, will be demonstrated. A coaching course will also be available on

Cost for the two-day event is $15.00 per person. Pre-registration for this event is required, and is due no later than May 1, 2012. |Summer 2012 Season is Now Open for Registration|
It's never too early to think about summer... Cal South's summer 2012 season will be available for registration and card printing on April 15 through August 31st. The cost for new Cal South registered players is $10.00 for competitive and recreational play levels.
