|New Rules Changes Announced for National Cup and State Cup|
Several important new rules changes for the 2012 Cal South National Cup and 2012 Sports Authority State Cup were recently announced by the Cal South State Tournaments Committee. All rules changes are effective immediately.
New Rules Changes (September 2011)
• 22 Player Rosters: For National Cup only, it has been extended to include U14 and U15 age groups. For Presidents Cup and Governors Cup, there is no change.
• Entering State Tournaments: Teams may enter the State or National Cup in a different age group than they were initially registered for in the current seasonal year as long as every player registered to the team is age appropriate for that competition's age group. This does not apply to Under-10, which must still play Under-10.
• Use of the Club Pass for State and National Cups: The club will determine when a player is placed on a State Cup tournament roster. The club has the ability to move players from within the club onto and off of a team's State or National Cup tournament roster prior to the roster freeze. These moves within the club would not count as one of the five transfers as long as a nine player continuity is maintained.
For National Cup only, Club Passes can be used for Far West Regional and National Championship rosters as well. For more details, please consult the full rules for the State Cup here and the National Cup here.

About the NSCAA National Diploma
Information Sheet | Registration Form
The National Diploma is a 50-hour course designed to meet the needs of the more experienced coach, particularly those coaching at the high school level and above, or youth coaches with previous certification and a number of years working with the developing player.
It is strongly recommended that candidates complete the NSCAA Junior 6 Diploma, formerly called the Advanced Regional Diploma or USSF "D" license, prior to the course.
The overall objective of the National Diploma is to acquaint the coach with the needs of the American soccer player and provide an organized and progressive methodology of coaching those needs. Basic technical and tactical knowledge is the central theme of the course in a 6 v. 6 model.
The course includes sessions on the teaching process, psychological skills training and Laws of the Game. Participants receive a curriculum that outlines the course content and includes valuable resource material. Testing includes oral, written and practical (coaching) evaluations.
