Cal South Bylaws Review Meetings Continuing Through January
Coming Up: District 4 - Jan. 22 | District 7 #1 - Jan. 23 | District 5 - Jan. 28 | District 7 #2 - Jan. 29
At the board meeting on Saturday, December 11, 2010, the Cal South Board of Directors finalized what has been a seven-month comprehensive review of the organization's bylaws in an effort to ensure that Cal South, under its status as a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, is
operating fully in accordance with the current California Corporations Code. The bylaws of an organization are a critical governing document intended to outline an organization's basic structure, voting rights, the powers of its directors, and most importantly, what comprises "membership" within that organization.
The revisions to the bylaws will be voted upon by all credentialed affiliate members at the Cal South Annual General Meeting (AGM) on February 13, 2011.
To prepare for the AGM, Cal South has been presenting a series of town hall-style meetings throughout the month of January, which are hosted by the seven Cal South districts. All Cal South clubs, youth and adult, have been encouraged to attend these meetings, which also incorporate Q&A sessions following the discussion of the bylaws. Other items on the agenda at each meeting are the findings of the Cal South Recreational Task Force, the upcoming AGM at Soccer Nation Expo and
other updates distinct to the district holding each particular meeting.
Announcements of each meeting have been emailed to the league VIPs in each district and were always placed prominently on the CalSouth.com Event Calendar, homepage and individual district pages. For more visit www.CalSouth.com/bylaws

Youth (Minor) Players Joining Adult Leagues
Adult League VIPs should be keenly aware of this eligibility process
The Cal South Board of Directors recently approved the registration of youth (minor) players in adult leagues. The registration process itself is fairly straight-forward, but in order to help facilitate the process, we have prepared some information to help you along the way.
Please note that only youth players aged 16 as of August 1 can participate as minors in adult leagues. Players younger than 16 years of age cannot register to any adult team. However, minors in adult leagues can simultaneously play in a youth league. It is also important to note that the process must be strictly followed otherwise potentially hinder the process.
IMPORTANT: If you currently have registered players that are minors, please make sure to complete this process as soon as possible. Please contact your league of registration to verify league eligibility for minors playing in adult leagues.
