New Resource Section on CalSouth.com for Easy Accessibility and Use by All Members
Cal South recently initiated and announced a new policy bulletin system on CalSouth.com. Policy Bulletins have been developed to delineate requirements and provide guidance on various subjects within Cal South and its jurisdiction. These are tools of management to define the expectations of all Cal South members and affiliates and ensure consistent application of Cal South policy by affiliated members, Cal South committees, and the Cal South Corporate Office.
Cal South Policy Bulletins are issued by the Cal South Board of Directors as a means of making internal expectations clear to Cal South members and affiliates. The Cal South Board of Directors may also issue Cal South Addenda to national or regional policy bulletins in order to provide specific local guidance.

PLAYER ACTIVATION BUSINESS RULES
With the Fall 2010-2011 season nearly underway, it's important to review one very important Cal South business rule. Regardless of the season, an "accepted" player will generate an invoice and not by the process of "activating" the team. However, make certain that when you click on "Save Application Changes" with the purpose of clearing a player, that this is the exact action you want. If you have any questions regarding the clearing process or
would like to know more about the billing process, please feel free to contact the League Account Management Department or the Accounting Dept.
ALL APPLICATIONS THAT WERE NOT COMPLETED BY APRIL 15TH ARE NOW CONSIDERED DELINQUENT. DON'T COMPROMISE YOUR LEAGUE'S STANDING!
A late fee of $100.00 will now be applied to all delinquent league application submissions.
The Youth League Application remains open to all leagues that have not submitted a youth league application. Youth League Applications had to be completed by April 15, 2010. The application process was recently made available online, but leagues needing to begin the process are asked to click here first in order to review several helpful documents that should help them complete the process smoothly.
There is also a link on that page which will take the league representative to the online Youth League Application site where they will be asked to create a user account to log in to the system. If you are already set to begin the process, you can click here to go to the Youth League Application site directly.
On that note, many leagues have already started the new online application process but have fallen short of completing the process in its entirety. Because the process requires exact and detailed information, it is vital that that all requirements are met, otherwise a delay in the final processing of your Youth League Application may occur. For additional information, click on the links above, or if you have further questions, please contact the Cal South League Account

REFEREES NEED TO GET THEIR RISK MANAGEMENT FINGERPRINTING COMPLETED AND APPROVED IN ORDER TO REFEREE YOUTH GAMES
A Must If You Wish to Referee Youth Games
Cal South continues to be a leader in the KIDSAFE program by extending the Live Scan requirements of program administrators to referees officiating youth games. As with program administrators, referees may not go through Live Scan until their 18th birthday. Once a referee goes through Live Scan, it can take up to 14 days for Cal South to receive a response from the California Department of Justice. Referee Live Scan Risk Management (RM) status is maintained on the Registered Officials List (click to view).
If you have been Live Scan-approved as a coach or program administrator in the Cal South Online Registration Information System (CORIS), but your name does not appear on the Registered Officials List, then please contact Lisa Wolfs at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also contact Lisa if you have any other questions regarding Risk Management and Live Scan.
For more information about Cal South's Risk Management program, go to http://www.calsouth.com/risk-management/ .
LATE FEES WILL HIT REC LEAGUES MISSING AUG. 31ST REGISTRATION DEADLINE
Having the clearing & billing processes down correctly will save you headaches later
As you're completing your league registration for Fall 2010, it's absolutely imperative for leagues that have recreational play to make sure that the greater part of their player registration is in the CORIS system no later than August 31st. Failure to meet the deadline (Cal South Rule 126.96.36.199) will result not only in higher registration fees per player, but could also lead to lack of accident coverage for your individual players. Please contact your League Account
Manager with any questions.

YOUR NEW 2010/2011 CAL SOUTH PASSES ARE ON THEIR WAY!
Make sure to destroy your unused 2009/2010 passes!
Player passes may be printed and may be used July 1st for immediate use. This should allow registrars a more flexible window in which to print and prepare cards, while also allowing more flexibility in terms of summer tournament participation and bracketing. As an additional reminder, Cal South 2009/2010 fall, spring 2010 and summer 2010 passes are valid through August 31st. However, please note, that any unused 2009/2010 passes must be destroyed. The new 2010/2011 players
passes may be used beginning July 1 through August 31, 2011.
Whatever you do, please do not piecemeal your pass requests! Don't wait to order your complete supply for the fall, spring and summer tournament season. ORDER ALL OF THEM TODAY! To find out what your complete allocation is, or if you have questions regarding the use of Cal South Member I.D. Passes, please contact Anthony Morales in the League Account Management department at email@example.com or 714.451.1550.
CAL SOUTH ANNUAL PLAYER REGISTRATION AUDIT WILL BEGIN ON JULY 1, 2010
Moratorium Placed on 2009-2010 CORIS Applications
The official start of the 2010-2011 seasonal year is less than three months away, officially beginning on September 1, 2010! In tandem with this, Cal South will be embarking on its annual player registration audit, which will begin in earnest on July 1, 2010. To completely fall in line with the audit process, Cal South found it necessary to place a moratorium on the ability for leagues and clubs to generate further player/administrator applications for the fall 2009-2010
seasonal year. This will have a "zero" impact on the 2009-2010 seasonal year as well as the spring and summer 2010 seasons.
CORIS MIGRATION & WORKING WITH APPLICATIONS
Scrub your teams of any non-returning players and help your fellow registrar.
As you complete your seasonal migration, make certain that you identify any players that will not be returning to your league. This generally applies to any competitive teams with players that are in an "assigned" status. The process of "rejecting" or removing a player on the roster and cancelling the application will permit other leagues and clubs the opportunity to register the player easily and clearly. If you have any questions regarding the migration and
or the clearing of applications, please feel free to contact the League Account Management Department at 714.451.1513.
TICK-TOCK! TICK-TOCK! THE TRANSFER CLOCK IS TICKING DOWN!
Transfer Players Up Until July 31st at 11:59 p.m.; Roster Freeze Period in Effect on August 1st
The deadline for transfers is rapidly approaching, so make certain that the coaches and administrators in your league or club are completely aware of the deadline. Players can transfer from one team to another up until July 31st at 11:59 p.m. After that, on August 1st, the roster freeze period goes into effect. The start of the preseason roster is then in full gear, effectively placing a moratorium on any movement from one team to another. In the event that a player either
desires or absolutely has to move to another team, it will require a Player Transfer Waiver Form, which can be downloaded here.
CAL SOUTH OFFICIAL LOGOS, INFO & NAME TEXT FOR MEMBER LEAGUE WEBSITES
New Resource Created to Aid Webmasters & League Admins in Solidifying Identification with Cal South
As part of a drive to help solidify the identification in the public eye between Cal South and its member leagues, and as a direct result of the recent amendment about the organization's name change, a resource has been created so that member leagues can easily access basic Cal South information and graphics for use on their websites.
Many long-standing member leagues still have Cal South logos from many years back which are outdated, in addition to having older terms (such as CYSA-S) instead of Cal South, in prominent places on their websites. To get the fullest benefit possible in affiliating with Cal South, member leagues and clubs should seek to strengthen the bond of identification between their organization and its members with that of Cal South. One of the simplest ways to do this is to provide readily
available information about Cal South, along with a proper logo and hyperlink to our homepage.
By clicking here, you will find a resource page on CalSouth.com .which will provide you with a variety of logo formats (in both JPG and EPS versions), along with boilerplate (About Cal South) text and proper URLS for several Cal South sites. This is not a demand to use all of the information provided. We are simply providing the information because we get many requests
every year for such materials, and each individual club is left to decide what they might or might not use on their own site.
