Opening Cal South Adult League Information Meeting A Great Success
Eighty-plus Adult League leaders converged on the Cal South Corporate Offices on Saturday, January 24, to hear about the future of adult soccer in Southern California. In a jam-packed meeting room which included US Soccer President Sunil Gulati, US Soccer CEO Dan Flynn, and US Adult Soccer Association Chairman Brooks McCormick, representatives from numerous adult soccer leagues heard Cal South President Gregg Falk and Cal South CEO John Weinerth outline their future plans for bringing the Adult Leagues together under Cal South's organizational wing. A Q&A session followed which provided Adult League leaders the chance to express any concerns in an open discourse. Each attendee to the meeting received a ticket to the U.S. Men's National Team game versus Sweden at the Home Depot Center that afternoon.

A second introductory Adult League Information Meeting is planned to be held at Soccer Nation Expo on February 21, 2009 from 2:00-3:00 pm in Room 304B of the Los Angeles Convention Center's South Hall. The agenda will be the same as the first meeting, and will provide interested Adult League representatives with an overview of Cal South's vision for the proposed Adult Association. If you are interested in attending this meeting, click here to RSVP.

If you are interested in receiving future Adult League updates, announcement and RSVP invitations for future meetings, please click here to opt in. It's Cal South League Application Time Again!
All Leagues Must Complete This Process Annually

If you're somewhat new to Cal South or a long time standing member, applying as league of registration is an annual and mandatory process. However, whether applying as a league of Registration or as a Gaming Circuit, the procedures are rather straightforward. In the event that you find yourself needing additional assistance or have questions regarding the process, please feel free to contact the League Account Management department or the Membership Development team, and they will be glad to help you through the process. You may begin your own league's application process for the coming year by downloading the 2009 Cal South League Application or Gaming Circuit form by clicking here.

Risk Management Policy: A Reminder On Card Printing
Live Scan Fingerprinting Also Available at Cal South's Booth at Soccer Nation Expo 2009
All administrators MUST complete the Live Scan process; this includes all coaches, managers, team administrators, board members and tournament directors. A card can NOT be printed until the Corporate Office has received approval from the Department of Justice. The process can take up to 14 business days to complete. Please make sure that your league has correctly inputted or updated your information in the CORIS system. If you log into your CORIS account and see an R with a red circle around it, please contact Lisa Wolfs, Risk Management Coordinator, at 714.451.1520 or here for more information on getting your Live Scan done or on hosting an upcoming session.

Cal South will also have Live Scan fingerprinting available at Soccer Nation Expo on February 21-22 at the L.A. Convention Center. If you still need to get processed, please bring your ID and $15 to the Cal South booth. For any questions regarding Live Scan at the Expo, contact Lisa Wolfs at 714.451.1520.

Player Registration Fees
It is Critical That Your League's Account is Paid Up and Current
Be sure your league is current (reflecting a $0.00 balance on your account) on player registration fees (league statements). Your league statement is critical to review. If there is a balance over $500, please call Rebecca Nelson in Cal South's Accounts department at 714.451.1528, and also contact your league president. In some cases this is a sign of cash improprieties. Also, not being current will affect your league's membership benefits which include: credentialing at the AGM, CORIS access, sanctioning eligibility, insurance coverage and upcoming league approvals. Thank you for your attentiveness.

If you are interested in attending the upcoming session on Saturday, March 28th in Irvine or April 25 at the Cal South Corporate Office, or If you have any questions regarding the certification process, please don't hesitate to contact the League Account Management Department at 714.451.1513.
