It's Cal South League Application Time Again!
All Leagues Must Complete This Process Annually - DEADLINE: Wednesday, April 1

Whether you are somewhat new to Cal South or a long-time standing member, applying as a league of registration is an annual and mandatory process. However, whether applying as a league of registration or as a gaming circuit, the procedures are rather straightforward. This year's deadline to get your League Applications in to the Cal South Corporate Office is Wednesday, April 1, 2009 -- no exceptions!

If you need assistance or have questions regarding the process, please feel free to contact the Cal South League Account Management department or the Membership Development team, and they will be glad to help you through the process. You may begin your own league's application process for the coming year by downloading the 2009 Cal South League Application or Gaming Circuit form by

Soccer Nation Expo, Cal South's annual celebration of the beautiful game, landed in the L.A. Convention Center's South Hall on Saturday, February 21 to kick off two amazing days of high-spirited soccer action, education, shopping, networking and just plain fun, at the biggest free family soccer expo in the country. Over 24,000 rabid soccer fans - 14,000 on Saturday and 10,000 more on Sunday - attended the family-friendly and fan-interactive exposition, which featured a little something for just about any area of interest within the world of soccer.

California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce Broadband Initiative Survey
Please Take A Few Minutes to Help This Cal South Partner

Over the last few years, Cal South has partnered with the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce (CHCC) on a number of projects. They have been instrumental in connecting Cal South into state level discussions which could help expand the opportunities for youth soccer throughout our area.
Now it's our turn to help them. The CHCC is working to close the digital divide among minority businesses and under-served communities in California. They have partnered with the California Emerging Technology Fund to create the Hispanic Business Broadband Initiative. The use of broadband technology is crucial to the success of small businesses, and increasing the knowledge of and access to technological advances is key.

To help better understand the existing understanding and usage of technology in small business, the CHCC has commissioned a survey. It's short... it only takes about five minutes. You can take it anonymously or provide information about your business at the end of the survey. Please go to: Click on "Hispanic Chamber of Commerce" as your organizational affiliation, then click "Next," then click on "Cal South" as your chamber affiliation... then begin the survey. We appreciate your participation, time and assistance for this important Cal South partner.

Player Registration Fees
It is Critical That Your League's Account is Paid Up and Current
Be sure your league is current (reflecting a $0.00 balance on your account) on player registration fees (league statements). Your league statement is critical to review. If there is a balance over $500, please call Rebecca Nelson in Cal South's Accounts department at 714.451.1528, and also contact your league president. In some cases this is a sign of cash improprieties. Also, not being current will affect your league's membership benefits which include: credentialing at the AGM, CORIS access, sanctioning eligibility, insurance coverage and upcoming league approvals. Thank you for your attentiveness.

The Path to Smooth Registrar Certification:
Cal South's League Certification Program - Next Session on Saturday, April 25 in Irvine

As of January 1, 2007, Cal South implemented a League Certification program (CLR) to meet the demands of today's soccer organization. The CLR is an education-based training program for all league registrars with an emphasis placed on elevating and distinguishing the role of the Primary League Registrar. If you are interested in attending the upcoming session on Saturday, April 25th in Irvine, or if you have any questions regarding the certification process, please contact the League Account Management Department at 714.451.1513. Space for these sessions is limited, so be sure to sign up right away and get certified now!
