Cal South President Gregg Falk welcomed the news. "Cal South is extremely excited about working with all of the existing adult leagues and programs towards growing the game in Southern California. We look forward to building on the great tradition of adult soccer that has been established in Southern California over the last forty plus years and working together toward building the best soccer association in the world."

Cal South to Host 2009 Far West Regional Championships in June
U12-U19 Regional Champs to be decided from June 15-21 in Lancaster, CA

The US Youth Soccer Far West Regionals are being hosted by Cal South in 2009. Immediately after the Cal South National Cup decides its U19 champion for the year, teams from the 14 western states that make up Region IV will gather in Lancaster, California from June 15-21 to decide which teams deserve to move forward to the US Youth Soccer National Championships in Massachusetts in July.

Cal South is honored to have been chosen as host to such a prestigious event, and asks all of its teams and members to take advantage of this chance to show our neighbors the level of excellence and professionalism we have achieved as a leading youth soccer organization. For more information on the event, please go to

California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce Broadband Initiative Survey
Please Take A Few Minutes to Help This Cal South Partner

Over the last few years, Cal South has partnered with the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce (CHCC) on a number of projects. They have been instrumental in connecting Cal South into state level discussions which could help expand the opportunities for youth soccer throughout our area.
Now it's our turn to help them. The CHCC is working to close the digital divide among minority businesses and under-served communities in California. They have partnered with the California Emerging Technology Fund to create the Hispanic Business Broadband Initiative. The use of broadband technology is crucial to the success of small businesses, and increasing the knowledge of and access to technological advances is key.

To help better understand the existing understanding and usage of technology in small business, the CHCC has commissioned a survey. It's short... it only takes about five minutes. You can take it anonymously or provide information about your business at the end of the survey. Please go to: Click on "Hispanic Chamber of Commerce" as your organizational affiliation, then click "Next," then click on "Cal South" as your chamber affiliation... then begin the survey. We appreciate your participation, time and assistance for this important Cal South partner.

Player Registration Fees
It is Critical That Your League's Account is Paid Up and Current
Be sure your league is current (reflecting a $0.00 balance on your account) on player registration fees (league statements). Your league statement is critical to review. If there is a balance over $500, please call Rebecca Nelson in Cal South's Accounts department at 714.451.1528, and also contact your league president. In some cases this is a sign of cash improprieties. Also, not being current will affect your league's membership benefits which include: credentialing at the AGM, CORIS access, sanctioning eligibility, insurance coverage and upcoming league approvals. Thank you for your attentiveness.
