Get Maximum Exposure for Your Tourney in the 2009 Tournament Guide!
Artwork and Payment Due in Cal South Corporate Office by November 5, 2008
Cal South tournament directors should be aware that the 2009 edition of the Cal South Tournament Guide is currently in production, with a scheduled landing date of January 5. The Cal South Tournament Guide is mailed to over 10,200 Cal South coaches and is also distributed nationally at the following annual shows: the NSCAA Coaches Convention, the US Youth Soccer Workshop and Soccer Nation Expo.

The only way to get your tournament's logo on the website is through the purchase of the Tournament Guide Package ($550), which includes a full page color ad and enhanced listing in the Guide, an enhanced listing with logo and link on the Sanctioned Tournaments page on CalSouth.com, and an enhanced listing with logo in Cal South Soccer Magazine. New to the package this year is each tournament's inclusion in a Tournament Spotlight email, which will go out once to all of Cal South's coaches in the month preceding that tournament's entry deadline. Tournaments can also purchase extra logos in any listing areas for an additional amount. For more information about the 2009 Cal South Tournament Guide Package, please contact Kim Dyer at 714.451.1540 or by email at kdyer@calsouth.com.

Cal South Coach's Gifts for 2008 Are Still Available
Make Sure Your Coaches Have Received Their Thank You from Cal South for the New Season
As many of you probably know, this year's Cal South Coach's Gift District Tour has been going on throughout August, and while most of the leagues have already received this year's gift -- a specially designed Cal South Messenger Bag -- there are still many that haven't. If your coaches have not received their gifts for the new fall season, please contact your league office first to see if they were already picked up by a league representative. If you are a league representative interested in picking up your league's complement of gifts, here's an updated guide:

If your league is in District 2, 6 or 7, all of your coach's gifts have been left with the District Commissioners for each of those districts. Please contact them to arrange a pickup time.
If your league is in District 3, 4 or 5, please contact Rik Johnson at 714.451.1538 or pjohnson@calsouth.com to arrange a pickup time. Gifts can be picked up M-F, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
District 1 leagues will be able to pick their gifts up at the District 1 meeting scheduled for Thursday night, August 28. League representatives were sent an email reminder earlier this week, but if you cannot make it, please contact Rik Johnson to work out alternate plans.

League Registrar Certification Update
Thanks from the Cal South LAM Department!
Cal South's League Account Management department would like to thank all of those dedicated registrars who took the time to complete the League Registrar Certification test this year. As of August 27th, 70 registrars now fill the ranks of Cal South certified registrars. This is quite an accomplishment and proves that registrars are always willing to improve their skills and knowledge base. Again, kudos to one and all, and good luck as well to all of this season's freshman registrars!

A Helpful Reminder to League Registrars:
Updating Your Security Profiles and Contact Info
Certified registrars, do you know who has access to your league's information? Ask yourself the following question: other than yourself, who has permission to access critical league areas, such as the ability to print cards or edit player and administrator profiles? Many occasions also necessitate that we peak behind the security walls for audit purposes. Registrars, maintain your sanity, take a moment, and make sure that anyone maintaining any CORIS roles for your league are cleared through the Department of Justice, but also make sure that these individuals should be in the back-end of CORIS at all.

Secondly, and just as important, is your contact information for the current league users -- such as registrars, board members, etc. -- updated and valid for the new season? There are many occasions when the Cal South corporate staff needs to make contact or send information of vital interest to various members of your league's board of directors. Please take another moment and make sure all contact information is current and valid.

Risk Management Policy: A Reminder on Card Printing
All administrators MUST complete the Live Scan process; this includes all coaches, managers, team administrators, board members and tournament directors. A card can NOT be printed until the Corporate Office has received approval from the Department of Justice. You will not be able to be on the field with the players until this process is completed.
