TIME IS RUNNING OUT!
Youth Module Course Applications are Due at Least 30 Days Prior to the Date Requested.
Now is a great time to schedule a Youth Module to get your recreational coaches licensed! Each league can request to host their own Youth Module course for their coaches. There are two recreational coaching license levels: YM1, which is required in order to coach under 9 years old, YM3, which is required to coach kids 9 years old and above. At each Youth Module course, the coaches will be exposed to topics including the philosophy of coaching, prevention and care
of soccer injuries, laws of the game, principles of attack and defense, and coaching tactics, to name a few. If this sounds like the type of opportunity you would like to present to your recreational coaches, please view the "How To" by clicking here. You may also contact Chrissy Teyechea email@example.com any questions or concerns which you may have.
Cal South to Give $10,000 to 7 Teams Bound for 2007 National Championships
Regional and National Donation Total: $205,000
As in the past couple of years, Cal South is donating $10,000 to each of its seven teams that are bound for the 2007 US Youth Soccer National Championships in Frisco, Texas in July, which teams may use to help ease the burden of costly travel expenses. Adding this total to the $135,000 Cal South gave to its 27 teams at the Far West Regionals last week, this brings its donation total to $205,000, with much of the money derived from State and National Cup
application fees. Cal South is proud of all of its talented teams, and wishes to show its appreciation for their hard work by giving them this ultimate in Member Benefits. Good luck to you all!

Registrars: A way to make printing cards easier for administrators!
Registrars, please remember to put your administrators in the CORIS system before they go through the Live Scan Process. This will make the process of updating much more efficient. A card can not be printed unless the administrators are approved in the CORIS system. Also please look in the State League and in the 2006-2007 season before entering the administrators. Please remind your administrators to fax over their live scan forms once they have
completed the process. The fax number is 714 441-0715. If you should have any questions, please feel free to contact Lisa Wolfs at 714.451.1520 or firstname.lastname@example.org.

Player Registration Application Forms:
Is it still necessary to submit copies of the Player Registration Application Form to Cal South?
In most cases, "Yes," but due to the recent advent of "online" registration and the fact that Cal South no longer provides the forms, it has come to our attention that leagues are uncertain as to the dissemination of the Player Registration Application/ Medical Release Form. As such, we have outlined a few essentials for leagues that make use of "Parental Online" registration, as opposed to the leagues that use CORIS as a data
management tool. It's quite simple: if your league is utilizing "Parental Online" registration, there is absolutely no need to submit any copies of the Player Registration Application/Medical Release form to the corporate office, as the ELAs (Electronic Legal Agreements) are stored electronically. However, if your league is not using "Parental Online" registration, then the process differs somewhat. A single copy on
plain office paper will more than suffice. Moreover, in order to help you facilitate and comply with the process and to allow for an adequate amount of time to gather and organize the Player Registration Application Forms, we have determined December 31, 2007 to be a suitable submission deadline for fall registration paperwork . Additionally, please make sure to organize the forms smartly by placing them in team order or something
When do I need travel papers?
You need travel papers any time you are participating in an event that is NOT sanctioned by Cal South. This includes participating in games outside the United States. At that point, you will also need Foreign Travel Papers which are due at least 30 days prior to travel. Clickherefor more information.
