Everyone knows someone who has given their all to the sport of soccer. Whether this person is a coach, a parent, a volunteer or a player, we all know people who are deserving of some outside recognition for their efforts in making youth soccer the best that it can be. Cal South provides an opportunity for this recognition by holding the annual Nike Awards Banquet in conjunction with the Soccer Nation Expo. This year's banquet will be held at the Wilshire Grand Hotel on February 17, 2007.

As you're digging through your holiday ornaments, don't forget about the yellows! What do we do with our "Yellows"?

Dissemination of Player Registration Copies (Registration/Medical Release Forms):
Due to the recent advent of "online" registration, it has come to our attention that leagues are uncertain as what to do with the yellow and pink copies of registration/medical release forms. As such, we have outlined a few essentials for leagues that make use of "Parental Online" registration, as opposed to the leagues that use CORIS as a data management tool. It's quite simple: if your league is utilizing "Parental Online" registration, there is absolutely no need to submit any copies of the medical release form to the corporate office, as the ELA's (Electronic Legal Agreements) are stored electronically. However if your league is not using "Parental Online" registration, then the process differs somewhat. The copy that has "Cal South" (Yellow Form) at the bottom of the form must be sent to the corporate office. If a downloadable version such as a PDF was used, please remit a copy of that as well. Moreover, in order to help you facilitate and comply with the process and to allow for an adequate amount of time to gather and organize the "yellows," we have determined December 31, 2006 to be a suitable submission deadline for fall registration paperwork . Additionally, please make sure to organize the forms smartly by placing them in team order or something sensibly comparable..
