Coaching Education License Levels

 

Cal South offers Coaching Education courses for the following license levels:

Online Youth Module 1 (YM1) For U9 and under recreational coaches. This version of the YM1 includes a more convenient online portion. This option involves both an online portion and field instruction.
 
Youth Module 1 (YM1) For U9 and under recreational coaches. It is MANDATORY that a recreational coach has a Youth Module 1 or Youth Module 3 certificate to coach in Cal South.
 
Youth Module 3 (YM3) For U10 and older recreational coaches. It is MANDATORY that a recreational coach has a
Youth Module 1 or Youth Module 3 certificate to coach in Cal South.
 
"E" License

An entry-level course which is MANDATORY for ALL competitive level coaches.
An 18-hour pass/fail course with a mix of field and classroom instruction.

*3 hours of required pre-course work

   
"D" License

Strongly recommended for all competitive coaches of players 15 years old and up.
Cal South's most comprehensive course offered and is preparatory for national licensing.
A 36-hour pass/fail course with a mix of field and classroom instruction.

*3 hours of required pre-course work and 3 hours of required mid-course work

 

   
"D" License Retest

This course is offered to coaches who received a Not Ready score (did not pass
their "D" course) and are looking to upgrade to complete a National "D" license.
An 18-hour pass/fail course with a mix of field and classroom instruction.

*3 hours of required pre-course work
