Prior to being elected to the Cal South Board of Directors in 2005 as the District 6 Commissioner, Ann Shoemake served as the Assistant District Commissioner beginning in 2003. Ann was the Chairman for the 2009 U.S. Youth Soccer Far West Regionals (which were held in Lancaster), as well as the 2010 Cal South Nominations Committee Chairman.

Ann has been involved in Southern California youth soccer for over 25 years. She began her involvement with the Golden Empire SL Board serving in the following capacities as President, Secretary, Treasurer, Registrar and Tournament Director. She has also served on the Bakersfield Girls SL Board as President, Secretary, Treasurer, Registrar and Tournament Director. She has also served as a Director of the Kern County Soccer Foundation, holding the positions of President, Secretary, Treasurer and Scheduler. Ann has served at nearly every level of involvement in local soccer organizations which led to her direct affiliation with Cal South.

Ann has also served on the Board of Directors for the Bakersfield Racquet Club holding the positions of President and Treasurer. Ann is retired and is an avid tennis player. She has raised two children, Michel and Michelle, whose involvement in youth soccer under the Cal South banner kindled her passion for the sport.
