Sue Abadie became District 3 Commissioner for Cal South in 2008. Her involvement with soccer began as many do, as she and her husband Steve saw their children getting involved in the sport. In 1978, her daughter Cheryl joined AYSO and her son Kenny eventually followed. In 1983, Kenny left AYSO to play for a competitive team in Cal South. Sue became a team manager, and eventually ended up as the treasurer and registrar for Southwest United for a period of eight years.

In 1993, she was asked to handle registration for Coast Soccer League, a position she held until 2008. She also served as an Assistant District Commissioner for District 3, before being named as District Commissioner in 2008.

Sue and Steve are proud grandparents to Cheryl's children Ian and Tiffany, and Ken's children Morgan and Maykayla.
