NAIA Schools In California
In the State of California there are roughly 23 colleges and universities which are members of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). NAIA institutions focus on character building as each member institution provides close-knit communities, small class sizes, and centers on the education and development of each individual student-athlete.
The recruitment process at NAIA institutions is less cumbersome, with minimal restrictions and rules. The NAIA encourages interaction between coaches and prospective student-athletes as communication ensures that the student-athlete is comfortable with their choice of institution. The NAIA holds strict academic requirements, but the process of determining eligibility is easier than the process of going through the NCAA Initial Eligibility Center.
And one of the attractions of playing NAIA athletics is that they offer athletic scholarships! A fully funded NAIA institution will have 12 full scholarships for both men’s and women’s soccer programs.
The following is a list of NAIA schools in California. For a full list see the NAIA’s main website at http://naia.cstv.com/. The majority of California colleges/universities play in either The Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) or The California Pacific Conference (Cal Pac).
